PRESCOTT – Amy McClane, with the local Central Arkansas Development Council, said additional funding has been secured to help those in need with their utility bills.

This, she said, is for a limited time as it’s not known how long the money will last. Starting Sept. 23, and each Wednesday thereafter as long as the funds hold out, people can get utility assistance from 8:30 a.m. until noon at the McRae Gym. Those looking for assistance will need to bring: driver’s license, social security card, proof of income and their utility bills.

In addition, McClane said the food  distribution scheduled for Oct. will see an unknown number boxes given away to those in need. Volunteers are still needed to help box and hand out the food.

Anyone wanting to volunteer can call at 870-724-5080. This information will also be on CADC.com and social media.

Victoria Bradley, CADC supervisor, said volunteers are desperately needed to help with the boxing on Oct. 21 and distribution on Oct. 22. Bradley added the distribution will be following CDC guidelines and requiring all volunteers to wear masks.
