Ashdown Homicide Investigation

ASHDOWN – Tuesday night, October 6th, at approximately 8:39 pm, the Little River County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call stating gunshots were heard somewhere near the hospital in Ashdown. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate anything.

At 8:47 pm a citizen of Ashdown called and stated that there was a man laying in his yard. Officers arrived and located a 48 year old male victim laying face down in the driveway suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers administered first aid until an ambulance arrived and transported the victim to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Officers located the crime scene a short distance from where the victim was found.
