Southwest Arkansas Delights In Short-Lived Snow Tuesday Night

A wintry mix was forecast for our area on Tuesday night but later the National Weather Service changed the forecast to include actual snow.  Much to the delight of residents of Little River, Sevier, Howard, and Hempstead County, many of those areas received a dusting of snow.  Oakhaven received a dusting of snow on exposed areas and grass during this event and enterprising Oakhaven resident Les Patterson was actually able to build a snowman.  Patterson, who is instrumental in Oakhaven’s Christmas lights, is always up for winter fun.  No doubt he wishes he could preserve the snowman for this week’s luminaries Saturday night in the historic Hempstead County community.  Even without the snowman, motorists are invited to drive through Oakhaven this holiday to enjoy the extensive display of Christmas lights.  The community will line the streets with luminaries Saturday night and light them about 5pm.  Motorists are encouraged to enter Oakhaven from the south Saturday to enjoy the display.
