Charles and Jane Purtle Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Charles and Jane Purtle will be celebrating their 50th anniversary Tuesday, December 22, 2020.  They were wed in Abilene, Texas, December 22, 1970.  They were missionaries to the Dominican Republic before returning to this area in 1980.  Jane was a high school Spanish teacher in Prescott and Gurdon high schools before retiring in 2008.  Since then she has volunteered her time to be secretary and treasurer at Calvary Baptist Church in Hope.  Charles has been a tree farmer as well as the pastor of the Hispanic congregation at Calvary Baptist for about 10 years.  He also served as a chaplain at Tyson Foods for 20 years.  They have 3 adult children:  Jim and his wife Michelle, Brad and his wife Stephanie, and Beth and her husband Augusta Owens, who all live in Texas.  They have 4 grandchildren:  Jackson, Simon, Bailey, and Sydney Purtle.  The whole family will be celebrating in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a couple of days.
