Former Hope Resident Killed in Crash

SPRINGDALE – A former Hope resident died in an early morning wreck Wednesday in Springdale. According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Herman David Evins, Jr. 47, of Springdale died in the crash of the Icebear scooter he was riding.

According to the State Police narrative, “Evins was eastbound in the inside lane of U.S. highway 412/East Robinson Avenue and struck a piece of debris in the roadway. This impact threw the driver from the scooter. According to a witness statement, the driver was struck by three different vehicles which all left the scene and have yet to be identified. It is unknown at this time which incident caused the fatal injuries.” Unquote.

The incident happened at 5:13 Wednesday morning and was investigated by Corporal Carey Landrum of the Springdale Police Department.
