Despite Warm Weather, Hope Is Up On Rainfall

Hope ended August up on rainfall for both the month and the year.  The Southwest Research and Extension Center near Hope serves as the town’s official weather station.  The SWREC recorded 4.56 inches of rain in August.  This compares to normal rainfall of 3.04 inches.  Rainfall is above normal for the month at 1.52 inches.

Hope has received 45.89 inches of rain for the year.  Normal is 34.90 inches meaning rainfall is up 10.99 inches above normal.

August was a hot month but not a record month.  The high temperature recorded was 96 degrees.  It was recorded as least 3 times.   The coolest low temp was 64 degrees.
