PRESCOTT – Fred Harris was inducted as president of the Prescott Kiwanis Club at the club’s meeting Thursday at the First United Methodist Church.

It was induction day for club members, with Bonnie Pruitt being tabbed as president-elect, Barry Barber was named treasurer and Hyacinth Deon will again be the club’s secretary. The immidiate past-president is Tammie Rose. Sec. Deon presented Harris with his president’s pin.

In addition to the induction of officers, board members were also inducted. The new board will be: Howard Austin, Ron Major, LaShelle Hamilton, Glenn Vasser, Charlotte Coleman and Harding Deon.

Members of the club are still selling raffle tickets for a chance at winning groceries.

Austin provided an update from the Key Club, saying the club plans on doing a clean up on Ron Howard Blvd. from 8 a.m. until noon on Nov. 6. The students will be split into two groups, one starting from Hwy. 371 and the other from Love’s with the idea for them to meet in the middle. When the cleanup is over, they’ll be treated to something to eat at Hardees.
