Amy Dorain Williams, loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, December 28th at 4:00 PM, at the age of 50, in her home in Deann, Arkansas, surrounded by family.

Amy was born on August 28th, 1971, in Heidelberg, Germany. She was the first child of Ethel Louisa (Burke) and Ernest Henry Cox. She attended school in Hope, Arkansas and graduated from Hope High School in 1989. She married and had two loving children, Douglas and Michael Williams, who both blessed her with grandchildren later on in life.

She enjoyed participating in pageants during her high school years and later went to work for Service Master where she helped restore homes and businesses which were hit by disasters. In 2006, she returned home to help take care of her mother and father. Amy had many hobbies and passions which filled her time, in recent years she enjoyed being a member of the Hempstead County Sunshine Club in Deann, Arkansas, herb gardening, and looking after her cats – being dubbed the family “cat lady”, but her most important pastime was being a wonderful grandmother to her three grandchildren.

Amy is survived by her children, Douglas Williams of Deann, Arkansas; and Michael Williams and his wife, Roxie Williams of Deann, Arkansas; parents Ethel and Ernest Cox of Deann, Arkansas; her aunt, Barbara Thomas of Yuma, Az, her sister, April Thaxton and husband, Jack Thaxton of Deann, Arkansas; grandchildren, John Williams, Dawson Williams, and Jaycee Williams; nieces, E’Lyse Thaxton of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Maci Thaxton of Deann, Arkansas; her uncle, Floyd Burke and his wife Aurelia Burke, of Deann, Arkansas; first-cousins, Bonnie Pruitt, Lori Burke, and Katie Devany, and a host of many extended family members and friends who were very dear to her throughout her life. Memorial services will be held at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Hope, Arkansas on Friday, January 7th at 10:00 AM.
