Frances Helen Skutchan, 83, of Hope, AR, died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on December 18, 2021, in Plano, Texas.

She was born to Pierre and Eleanor Soileau in Ville Platte, LA.  She married Emil Skutchan in 1956 and traveled the world as an Air Force wife, raising three children and getting involved like no other. She sewed fashionable clothes, held meetings for Brownies and Cub Scouts, and approached everything with gusto and sometimes a little less than grace! She loved to fish and was one of the first to use home computers. Fran cherished family and church. She will always be lovingly remembered for her adventurousness, sense of humor, love of sewing, quilting, painting, playing cards, and all things Cajun. She enhanced the lives of everyone she knew and loved to speak French with anyone who could.

Frances is survived by her son Larry and (Elizabeth Weber) Skutchan of Louisville, KY, her daughters Julie and (Joey) Wright of Corpus Christi, TX, and Karen and (Jack) Pressnellof Plano TX, six grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, former daughter-in-law Donna Skutchan, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Kenneth; husband of 52 years, Emil Skutchan; second husband Anton Skutchan; sister Rose Pommier; and brother John Soileau.

Visitation will be at 9:00 AM at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home on January 8, 2022 in Hope, AR. A rosary service starts at 10:30 at Our Lady of Good Hope, followed by the funeral at 11:00 and interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
