The Hope Lions Club welcomed Historic Washington State Park Historian Chris Adams for their first program of 2022.  Adams said the park is hoping to expand their activities this year into more of what would be offered during a “normal” year.  He said the Jonquil Festival is scheduled for this year although it will be two days instead of three.  The festival will happen on a Friday and Saturday.  Adams also said the park is moving from self-guided tours to tours led by a park employee.  He also talked about some of the notable people who passed through Washington in the 19th century.  Adams also noted the Weapons Museum at Washington recently acquired a Gatling Gun that is on display.   Another new thing at the park is the 1874 jail is now a bed and breakfast.   If you have questions about the park, phone 983-2684 or visit historicwashingtonstatepark.com.
