Martin announced bid for governor

By submitted, 02/8/22 7:13 PM

LITTLE ROCK – JAY MARTIN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED HIS BID TO BECOME THE 47TH GOVERNOR OF ARKANSASAND VOWED TO UNITE ARKANSANS AROUND THE POSITIVE FUTURE HE ENVISIONS IN AN ARKANSAS THAT IS SECOND TO NONE.

The Jay Martin for Arkansas Campaign will focus on what matters to real Arkansans instead of focusing on what divides, and causes fear and mistrust. In every city throughout our great state, Arkansans value hard work and good paying jobs. We value affordable healthcare and safe neighborhoods. We value liberty and freedom over an ever-expanding government. And every parent and grandparent want their child or grandchild to have a world class education,” Martin said. “Values like generosity, honor, faith, community and patriotism have guided Arkansas well, and we won’t abandon those values now.”

Martin is the only candidate seeking to become Arkansas’ next governor who has actual experience working across party lines even when closely held personal beliefs differ. I am pro-life, and I value all life from conception to death. I support the second amendment, the Constitution and all the enumerated rights in the Bill of Rights,” Martin said. “And although my beliefs put me at odds with some of my colleagues, I was able to form the first-ever bipartisan committee of Democrats and Republicans who worked on important legislation,” Martin said.

The Jay Martin for Arkansas Campaign will demonstrate how Arkansas must be better than Washington D.C. Washington D.C. is broken, and we certainly do not need more Washington-style politics in Arkansas.” Martin said, “we can never let Arkansas descend into the petty partisan squabbling that we see in Washington, where the seats of legislators in the U.S. Capitol are literally divided along party lines,” Martin continued. “When I served in the State legislature, I sat between a Democrat and Republican, and we got things done for all Arkansans—I won’t forget those lessons as Governor.”
