LITTLE ROCK – The House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee advanced HB1100. This bill creates a State Employee Health Benefit Advisory Commission and a Public School Employee Health Benefit Advisory Commission.

The commissions will review financial information and potential viability of funding as well as provide recommendations to the State Board of Finance.

The House Education Committee advanced HB1097.

This bill states it will be the responsibility of the House and Senate Committees on Education, through the biennial adequacy review, to determine the health insurance contribution rate to be paid by each public school district.

The full House passed more than 40 appropriation bills this afternoon.

The House adopted a resolution that would allow the Fiscal Session to continue until March 30 if needed. The House also adopted a resolution authorizing either or both chambers to recess for four or more consecutive days.

The House will reconvene today at 11 am.
