Billy Wayne Smith, age 71 of Blevins, gained his entry into Heaven on March 18, 2022. He was born on June 17, 1950, to Clyde and Georgia (Smith) Fulmer.

His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Billy had touched in huge ways! His family knew him as a kind –hearted man who was a master jokester.

The way he died was just like he lived: he wrote his own rules, he fought authority and he paved his own way. And if you said he could not accomplish a task, he would often prove you wrong. He invested in so many lives and has left a lasting impact on so many others.

He was accomplished hunter and fisherman, but his favorite past time was watching his grandsons play sports. He also enjoyed taking kids hunting and fishing and spending time investing in their lives.

He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of Jesus Christ. His was aware of the importance of a life with the ones you love over any material possession.

His most proud achievement in life was marrying his wife of 53 years, Dot Steed Smith, who supported him in all his accomplishments and lovingly embraced him during their last days together. They had two sons, Gary and Brian.

He worked in law enforcement in Prescott, Hope, Hempstead County Sheriff’s department and retired as a Corporal from the Arkansas Highway Police with a total service of 37 years and 7 months. Billy was also a Journeyman Plumber who help lots of people in the Blevins Community.

He was a faithful and hardworking servant of The Lord at Marlbrook Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Fulmer, his brother, Larry Smith, and his son, Gary Wayne Smith.

He is survived by his wife Dot Smith, son and daughter- in- law, Brian and Shannon Smith, grandsons Talan and Gage Smith, sister and brother-in-law Grace and David Hardy, brother and sister- in- laws Doug & Donna Steed, Bobby & Jamie Steed and Gene & Wanda Steed. Adopted sons Bruce Graham and Allen Westbrook. Many nephews, nieces, friends, and the Blevins Boys Hunting Club.
