HOPE – A 12-year-old Hope boy has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to a release from the Hope  Police Department.

The boy was arrested Thursday, April 7, with a detention hearing held in juvenile court. The result was the boy was detained by the court, but the investigation continues.

This is in connection with Wednesday’s situation at Yerger Middle School where several students got sick after eating an unknown substance.

Officers arriving on the scene gave a student Narcan, with four others taken to Wadley Hospital in Hope. All four received medical treatment and were listed in stable condition.
