Storm Damage

By Mark Keith, 04/13/22 3:23 PM

It appears Hempstead County dodged much in the way of serious storm damage on Tuesday night.  Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton said Wednesday morning most of the damage appeared to be restricted to trees and power lines down.  An old oak tree on east Third in Hope was downed and it apparently bent a street light.  Big Mac’s Bar B Que shared photos with us of trees and power lines downed on Hempstead 183.  A tornado warning was issued about 11pm for Hempstead and Nevada County with rotation spotted in clouds headed towards Prescott.  Both Hempstead and Nevada County still had power outages as of Wednesday morning but no report of injuries.  Those in the area need to stay close to a source of weather news today as there could be more bad weather to come.
