Farmers Bank Foundation to present endowment

HOPE – The Farmers Bank Foundation will present the first endowment payment of a planned 10-year scholarship program for the Hope Public Schools during ribbon cutting ceremonies at the new Hempstead County Courthouse here Thursday at 10 a.m.

The $125,000 endowment was announced by Farmers Bank and Trust Hope Market President Jacob Jones during the April meeting of the Hope Public Schools Board of Education.

The presentation Thursday will mark the initial payment to the HPS that will produce college scholarship support for Hope High School and Hope Collegiate Academy students the 2022-2023 academic year.

The presentation will be open to the public as will an open house of the newly-renovated Hempstead County Courthouse building at the intersection of Third and Walnut streets, purchased by the county from FBT.
