May 18, 2022, Hope, Arkansas, The Klipsch Heritage Museum Association (KHMA) is planning to launch a rolling event during the summer months called Big Sounds Downtown. The first Thursday evening in June, July, and August will bring music throughout downtown as well as a big band on a stage at the HUB.

Big Sounds Downtown will call for local musicians to play from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM.  The artists will set up in various locations on Elm, Main, Division, and 2nd.   KHMA is encouraging all downtown retail businesses to remain open until 6:00 PM, on the big music evenings, to allow folks to shop and dine.

From 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, a band will be on stage at the HUB that will allow the community to bring lawn chairs and gather at the HUB to listen to big sounds through Klipsch speakers.  Many in the community have missed street dances that took place years ago in downtown Hope.  The HUB will allow us to bring our community together to listen to music and dance the night away.

“Klipsch Heritage Museum Association is excited to bring Big Sounds Downtown to Hope!  The KHMA Visitors Center is in the historic downtown district, so we want to be a part of downtown revitalization and share our mission and vision with our community.  We are looking forward to evenings of music, shopping, strolling, dining, and dancing,” stated Beckie Moore, executive director of KHMA.

Make plans to join us on Thursday, June 2 as Joe Purvis and the LLC Band play the HUB.  The LLC Band played Paul W. Klipsch Birthday Bash, and they were a crowd favorite playing rock n’ roll and getting the crowd involved in singing along.

Thanks to the following sponsors, Big Sounds Downtown will be a free event.

McDonalds

Tyson Foods

New Millennium Building System

SWARK.Today

First National Bank of Tom Bean

Prior to the event, KHMA will share the list of street musicians and their locations.  It is not too late to join us as a Big Sounds Downtown sponsor and/or volunteer musician.   If you would like to participate, please contact Beckie Moore at beckie@klipschmuseum.org.    As they are booked, KHMA will also announce the BIG SOUND that will take the HUB stage on July 7 and August 4.
