HOPE – Hemptead Hall was packed for the 2022 Blevins High School graduation Friday night.

The stage was set for 23 seniors to take the next step and leave as graduates.

Marah Huskey provided the salutatorian address saying it wasn’t easy for the class to get to this point, and thanking the teachers for their help, adding they wouldn’t be here if not for them. She said they learned many things during their educational careers at Blevins. Huskey said this class is close and she cherishes all of them. “It seems like only yesterday we started and felt like we’d be there forever. Last week, we walked the halls for the last time.” Graduation, she continued, isn’t an ending but a beginning.

Johnathan White gave the valedictory address, telling the audience this is truly a great day as this is the next step toward their lives, and they will undergo daunting tasks. “These diplomas,” he said, “are measures of how much work we put in.” The diplomas, he continued, aren’t guarantees but will help them get jobs and go further to succeed.

From there, diplomas were handed out and the class certified as graduates.
