Local physician passes away

 ORANGE BEACH, AL – Dr. Mike Finley, age 69 of Hope, passed away Sunday June 26th, in Orange Beach, Alabama. Dr. Finley was a 1971 graduate of Ashdown High School. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday July 1st, at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest 1001 South Main Hope. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday July 1st, at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Hope. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope.

“It is with great sadness we share information about the unexpected loss of Dr. Mike Finley, who passed away on Sunday, June 26, while vacationing with his family. A dedicated and beloved physician, Dr. Finley embodied our mission and was inspired by his passion for providing compassionate and innovative care for our patients.

Dr. Finley joined CHRISTUS Health in 2001 as Vice President of Medical Affairs at CHRISTUS Cabrini in Alexandria, LA. In 2003, he transitioned to St. Michael Health System as Vice President of Medical Affairs and served as Regional Chief Medical Officer for several years prior to accepting his most recent role for CHRISTUS Health as System Medical Director and Designated Institutional Official (DIO). His forward-thinking and focus on quality led to numerous advancements that have truly made a difference for the people we serve.

Dr. Finley’s impact on this healthcare ministry, our community and all who had the honor of working with him will resonate for many years to come.”
