PRESCOTT – Explosions lit up the skies of Prescott Thursday night during the annual July 4 fireworks show.

The home stands at Cummins Stadium began filling around 7 p.m. Thursday as local and area residents arrived in anticipation of the show. Reports of rain threatened the show, as rain had been reported in Magnolia and Camden, as well as in Hope. The rain was reportedly headed toward Prescott, but nary a drop fell from the clear night skies when the concussion bombs were fired off, brilliantly illuminating the sky above the Johnson Sports Complex.

The parking lot at the sports complex was also packed by those wanting to get a closer look at the nocturnal display. The show lasted around 30 minutes, with no fan of fireworks leaving disappointed.
