PRESCOTT – It’s been a busy season for area firefighters.

Wednesday afternoon, crews from the Fair Hills Volunteer Fire Department, Prescott Fire Department and Nevada County Rescue Unit, battled a fire at the home of Adam Hill on Hwy. 19. Crews fought the fire in near 100 degree heat with the heat index at 112 degrees, while in full turnout gear.

The call came in at 3:15 p.m., but by the time crews arrived, the structure was completely engulfed in flames. The firemen had no chance of saving the house. Two trucks from Entergy showed up around 4 p.m. to cut power to the remains as an area couldn’t be sprayed due to the power still being on.

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
