The Hope Kiwanis Club heard a program on Rainbow of Challenges from Judy Watson and Scott Jester.  Watson, who is CEO, noted ROC has about 400 employees at the moment and needs to hire about 100 more.  ROC has a $16 million dollar budget and serves about 370 people.

Watson noted ROC manages a similar program in Prescott.  She also told the club ROC has purchased the old “Wee People” facility on Patmos Road.  This facility will be used as a house for 4 individuals served by ROC and also have 3 apartments in the building.  Watson said they hope to have this property annexed into the city.

ROC is about to start a construction project on North Main.  This will be a 10 bed/long-term care facility and she noted that will also result in an increase in personnel at that site.

Jester, who handles PR for ROC, thanks the Kiwanians and other clubs for their efforts on behalf of ROC.  He also brought some scrapbooks that detailed ROC’s history dating back to the 70’s
