By submitted, 10/10/22 1:23 PM

HOPE – Cattle producers, join us on October 28 from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a beef cattle and forages field day featuring an overview of the research and programs done at the

Southwest Research and Extension Center from Daniel Rivera, Center Director.  Attendees will also hear a cattle market update and how the drought is affecting prices by U of A Livestock Economist, James Mitchell. Additionally, Shane Gadberry, Cattle Nutritionist and Director of the U of A Livestock and Forestry Research Station, will be delivering information to help you better manage your herd’s nutritional needs as drought and fertilizer cost has impacted hay quality.  You will also have the opportunity to tour facilities and pastures to hear ways to reduce hay waste and how to utilize annual forage plantings to extend grazing as you see these management strategies in practice.

There is no cost to attend.  Lunch will be provided by Farm Credit Services of Western Arkansas. Registration is required and can be done online at https://bit.ly/SWREC_Cattle_Field_Day_2022, by calling (870) 777-9702, or by emailing spote@uada.edu before October 26th.
