Ronald Eugene Lawson “Ron” was born in Hope
Arkansas, on July 10, 1954 to Sylvester Lawson and Florine Marie White Lawson.  He was baptized at an early age, at Rising Star Baptist Church.  He
Began his education at Guernsey Elementary.  He
Then went to Hopewell Elementary, Henry C. Yeager High and graduated from Hope High School in 1971.Ron was married to Alice Bright Lawson Briggs and to this union Two Children were born.  Ron was employed at Arkansas Employment Security Department for 32 years where he was a faithful and loyal employee.  Ron attended Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas and graduated in 1976 with a B.A. Degree in Political Science.  Ron was a member of “Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.” the Mu Beta Chapter.

After retiring, Ron became a caretaker for his Mother until she passed. Ron was a very unique person, often described as a younger Sylvester.
He will definitely be missed by all.

He leaves to cherish his memories a Son DeRodrick (Jessica) Bright and Daughter Tiffany Lawson, Brother Jerrel (Carol) Lawson, Sisters Sylvia Lawson and Anita (Lee) Fricks, Granddaughters Kadecia Alexander, Maliah Lawson , KeAhni Bright, Nayeli Glenn, Noemi Glenn, Naimah Conedy, Grandson Zakarian Lawson, Great Grandson Ky’ree Hayes, Host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly

Visitation for Ronald Lawson will be 1-6pm, wake 6-7pm Friday at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be 11am Saturday at Haynes Chapel Baptist Church in Hope.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
