Local water projects grant recipients

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC) approved $270 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding distribution at its meeting on Friday, December 2nd. A total of 157 projects will receive funding across 58 counties.

Projects awarded funding will have to meet their match requirements, if required, and start construction by December 31, 2023. All construction is to be completed by December 31, 2026.

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Division will administer the awarded grants over the next three years. The deadline for construction completion is December 2026.

Local Drinking Water Applications recommended for award:

Fulton-Automated Meter Reading System (100% funded)–$140,700

Ozan-Tank improvements (75% funded, 25% match)–$243,000 (Total project $324,000)

Ozan-Water Tank Improvement (75% funded, 25% match)–$191,625) (Total project $255,500)

Southwest Arkansas Water Facilities Board-Bois D’Arc Extension (75% funded, 25% match)–$186,750 (Total project $249,000)

Southwest Arkansas Water Facilities Board-Spring Hill Water System Extension (75% funded, 25% match)–$3,759,500 (Total project $5,010,000)

Southwest Arkansas Water Facilities Board-Improvements, Tank Mixers, & SCADA Systems(75% funded, 25% match)-$219,000 (Total project $292,000)
