Nominations sought for Citizen and Hometown Hero

PRESCOTT – Though the annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Banquet is still months away, it’s time to be thinking about who deserves to be honored as Citizen of the Year and Hometown Hero.

Any Nevada County resident can submit a nomination, but the nominee must be a resident of Nevada County or have their business located in the county. The nominations for Citizen of the Year must be submitted in writing, along with the reason said person should be considered. The nominations must be delivered to the Chamber. A selection committee will judge the nominations on the following criteria:

Outstanding service to – family, city, county, state, church related, fraternal, recreational, industrial and educational oriented services.

The deadline for Citizen of the Year nominations is Feb. 20.

Nominations are also being sought for Hometown Hero. Any Nevada County resident may make a nomination and the nominee must be a resident of Nevada County or currently work for a fire, police or ambulance rescue in the county. Nominations and the reason for nomination must be submitted in writing to the Chamber. A selection committee will judge the nominations based on:

Outstanding service to – family, city, county, state, church related, fraternal, recreational industrial and educational oriented services.

The deadline for these nominations is Feb. 20.
