Current closings & changes (Updated as needed)

Current weather changes:

Service Disruption – Due to impending ice storms south of St Louis, Texas Eagle trains 21/421 originating January 31st and train 21 of February 1st will only operate between Chicago and St Louis, with no alternate transportation south of St Louis. Train 22 on February 1st and 2nd will originate at St Louis to Chicago only.

Changes -Hempstead County Courthouse open at 10 am on Wednesday February 1st.

Changes -ROC/PNC Children, Adult Day Programs and administration will open two hours late, at 10 am Wednesday. Bus routes will run two hours later than normal route.
Changes -Hempstead County Health Department will open at 10 am Wednesday morning.
Canceled – Hope Livestock Auction sale this Thursday.
Closed -ALL  Hope Public Schools will be closed, February 1st. It will be an AMI day. Any work sent home by teachers/schools will be checked in the upcoming days. We will resume classes on Thursday, February 2nd.
Closed/Canceled– First Baptist Church/Hope: The church office will also be closed, and Wednesday night activities are canceled.
Closed – Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative. Staff can be contacted by email.
Closed -The Blevins School District will be closed tomorrow Wednesday, February 1 and use an AMI day.
Closed – Spring Hill Schools will be closed tomorrow due to inclement weather. Wednesday is an AMI day.
Closed – Prescott Schools will be closed Wednesday, February 1, due to inclement weather.
Closed – Nevada Schools will remain closed on Wednesday. This will be AMI day 4.
Closed – UAHT is closed today.
Changes -Due to inclement weather conditions and for the safety of students, faculty, and staff, the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana will delay opening until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1. All classes before 10:00 a.m. are dismissed. Please use discretion when driving. Be sure to contact your instructor if you have extenuating circumstances that keep you from attending class. Check the college website, Facebook, and your student email for the latest information.
Closed –  According to Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver, the city will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 1 due to inclement weather. City offices will be open Thursday, Feb. 2 from 9:3o a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Closed – Texas A&M Texarkana closed Wednesday.
Changes – Red River Army Depot liberal leave policy is in effect for Wednesday, 1 February 2023. Liberal leave is defined as annual leave or leave without pay and no supervisor approval required in advance; however, employees must notify supervisors of their plans. Telework will NOT be available for any employees tomorrow due to ongoing VPN connectivity issues across CONUS. Employees who do not report to work must be on liberal leave as defined above. Due to weather conditions, employees must evaluate their risks based on the weather/road conditions in their area and act appropriately.
Changes – Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce will open at 10 am Wednesday.
Canceled – All Wednesday services at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 29 south of Hope.
Canceled – Wednesday services at Bodcaw Baptist Church.
Canceled – First Baptist Church of Prescott Wednesday night services.
Changes – Spring Hill School District 4th & 5th Grade Reading Fair have been rescheduled for a later date!
Canceled – Spring Hill Christian Church will NOT have KIDS CLUB Wednesday February 1st.
