Bob’s Antiques Has Lots of Interesting Items…and They’re All For Sale!

If you you are in the market for knives or records or simply a friendly face and good conversation a good place to check out is Bob’s Antiques. With both of these he has one of the largest selections in town. Bob Erwin, the owner has been dealing with knives for twenty years and has not only quite a collection but also a lot of knowledge about them. His wife makes hand soap and he sells a fair amount of it. He also has electric trains and quite a few bottles. For those who like to read Erwin has a good collection of second-hand books. Some of the more unique items include a Flying Star bicycle made in 1937, a barber chair and shoeshine stand dating from 1921. He knew the owner of the bicycle, who received it as a gift many years ago. The bicycle has been beautifully restored. The barber chair and shoeshine chair came to Prescott from Chicago in 1921 and stayed in the barber shop that later became Ronnie’s barbershop. Hanging on the wall is a wooden pattern of a gear used for sandblasting dating from the 1940s. He also has some nice sets of dishes, and cookware.
Bob’s Antiques is around the corner from Lagrone’s Hardware on Elm St. Originally from Texas Erwin has lived in Hope for 28 years and worked for Lagrone’s Hardware for 17 before opened his antique store. He stated that he openned it as he enjoys meeting and talking to people.
