Jennifer Block, Executive Director of the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council, spoke to the Hope Civitan Club Tuesday, April 11.  She informed the club of upcoming events, including the annual Youth Art Show currently on exhibit at the SWAAC gallery in downtown Hope, the David Stewart exhibit set for May 1-20, and Star Academy for youth, scheduled for the third week of June.

      She also said two or three summer art camps are planned and she is currently working with home schooled groups once a month.  Other activities include continuing work on the Art Park across the street from SWAAC, creation of quilt designs for the Arkansas Barn Quilt Trail, and planning for next year’s Arts in Education programs for local schools.  For more information on any of these topics, Jennifer — pictured with Civitan President Mona Still (left) — can be reached at the Arts Council at 870-777-8200.
