PRESCOTT – Friday’s Crawfish Boil, sponsored by the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce was held at a different venue this year – City Park.
Jamie Hillery, Chamber director, said there were several reasons for the move. First, the park offers more parking. It also gives children a place to play while mom and dad are getting their mudbugs or shrimp or both, and there’s more parking, making it safer as it’s easier for people to enter and exit the park than it was the Farmer’s Market pavilion.
Once again, Langiappe provided the mudbugs and shrimp, along with the potatoes and corn. In all, 80 pounds of shrimp were boiled, along with 300 pounds of crawfish, 100 pounds of potatoes and 200 ears of corn.
People were coming and going at a regular pace, with most opting to take their feast home to enjoy. Some, though, decided not to wait and ate at the pavilion.
Hillery said once all the pre-orders are she contacts Langiappe with what will be needed, ordering extra for those who didn’t buy a ticket in advance.
