Hope man killed in I-30 crash

MALVERN – A wreck this morning in Hot Spring County killed a Hope man and injured another. According to the preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, passenger Terrance Allen, 21, of Hope was killed and driver Corey Lewis was injured.

According to the State Police, the pair were in a 2021 Prius that apparently had come to a stop in the outside traffic lane of Interstate 30 East at the 96 mile marker in Malvern. The Prius was rear-ended by a 2016 Freightliner causing both vehicles to leave the roadway.

Lewis was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs. Trooper Jackson Daniell was the investigating officer. The crash happened at 4:01 am.
