The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 47th Annual Hope Watermelon Festival which will be held at the Hope Fair Park, August 10th-12th. This year’s theme is “A Seed Spitting Good Time” and that just what we plan on having! You will enjoy live music, food trucks and vendors. Chamber Executive Director Christy Burns stated, “We have had numerous concession and vendor applications submitted this year. At this time there are available vendor spots for all locations at the festival and applications can still be submitted at hopemelonfest.com.”
The Kidz Zone will be a popular place again this year with the addition of more inflatables and games. The camel and pony rides will join us along with shaved ice. Other festival attractions you will see will include Gellyball, antique engine show, Watermelon Olympics, car show, cornhole tournament, softball tournament, Watermelon Idol, fishing derby, duck races, money in the haystack, watermelon eating and seed spitting contests, and of course ice-cold watermelon by the slice!
The Watermelon Festival will have its big conclusion with the The Legendary Marshall Tucker Band hitting the big stage Saturday night. Tickets can be purchased at the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce or online at HempsteadHall.com.
