A proposed 12 mill increase for the Hope Public Schools failed 819 votes against to 308 votes for. The proposed increase would have brought the Hope millage from 34.7 mills to 46.7 mills. Final but unofficial results were tallied Tuesday night at the Hope Courthouse. There were a handful of provisional votes but nowhere near enough to affect the outcome.
