Hope City Manager Speaks To Hope Kiwanis

By Mark Keith, 09/15/23 6:15 PM

Hope City Manager J.R. Wilson spoke to the Hope Kiwanis Club on September 12th.  He opened the meeting talking about management and how tries to deal with the city employees and patrons.

Wilson noted the City Board is discussing some additional investment in the town, specifically “quality of life” infrastructure.  He said they hope to bring a measure to the ballots next year for some city improvements.  To determine what will be in the proposal, the city is putting together some citizens groups to discuss possible projects.  Some of the possible projects could include an aquatic center, splash pad, tennis courts, pickleball courts, improvements to the soccer fields, and a possible new main fire station.  Wilson said the project or projects would be funded by a sales tax.  He said they hope to have a proposal on the ballot in November 2024.

Wilson said the city welcomes comments and suggestions from Hope citizens.
