Changes made for flu clinic

PRESCOTT – Flu season is right around the corner.

This year there will be no mass flu clinic. Instead, according to Debbie Henderson, administrator of the Nevada County Health Unit, the shots will be given at the NCHU office from Oct. 2-5 from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Those wanting to get the vaccine can do by the unit on these days and times. There will be no cost, but people are asked to bring their insurance and Medicare cards.

Once again, a quadravalent vaccine will be used to inoculate people against four strains of the flu.

The NCHU will also be giving flu shots at the schools again this year. Staff will go to the Nevada School District on Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. until noon. From 1-4 p.m. they will be doing a community clinic for residents in the area.

Students in the Prescott School District can get vaccinated on campus on Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. until noon.
