Ribbon cutting for Love’s 2

PRESCOTT – It was ribbon cutting time for Prescott’s second Love’s store Tuesday morning.

Plenty of people gathered to welcome the new business to Prescott and check out what it has to offer.

Richard Harp, store manager, said this was the official ribbon cutting to open the store, Bojangles, the truck wash and truck care. The truck care center will deal with truck tires and minor mechanical work. The truck care center was expanded from one bay at the store across the street to three. Harp said the other store will be updated in the future.

One of Love’s most popular programs, he added, is the 10 cents a gallon off gasoline from the Love’s Connect app, which also has other deals for customers. He pointed out during the ribbon cutting ceremony, Love’s would be donating $2,000 to the Hamilton-Blakeley Senior Adult Center.

Harp said one reason Love’s built a second store in Prescott was because it had the land and the company wanted to start a truck wash and upgrade the truck care center.

Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver said he was excited about the business because Love’s means a lot to the community. He thanked the company for its investment saying it’s a “first-class” operation.

Harp followed saying he’s been part of the project from start to finish. “I got here in July  and everyone I’ve met has been open and welcoming. We’ll do what’s best for Love’s and Prescott so both can continue to grow.”

Franky Pipe, district manager, pointed out Harp hired more than 100 people from Prescott. “This is a golden opportunity with the truck wash and care center,” she said, adding Love’s now has more than 600 stores and plans to continue growing. She added the company plans to remodel the first store and upgrade it. “You have an amazing group of employees here,” she said.

Harp closed the speeches saying whenever Love’s opens a store, company policy is to find an entity and make a donation. For Prescott, this meant a $2,000 donation to the senior center to be used for food and transportation to help the elderly.
