Darius Timothy Ashbrook, known to his loved ones as Tim, Timmy or Pop, passed away on January 21, 2024, at the age of 69 in Kirby, Arkansas. He was born on August 1, 1954, in Prescott, Arkansas to Elsie Glen Buchanan Ashbrook and Doyle Anderson Ashbrook.

Tim had a great sense of humor and loved life. He cherished his wife Terri, their relationship, and the life they built together. Tim’s grandbabies, affectionately called the Lollie Pop kids, were his pride and joy. He put Terri above all and treasured their love. Tim also had a deep faith and looked forward to being with God.

Tim is survived by his loving wife Terri of 49 years, his children Cary Ashbrook (Jenny) of Hooks, TX, and Kelli Ashbrook-Cummings (Kyle) of Texarkana, TX. He was the proud grandpa “Pop” to his Lollie Pop kids Ashbrook Cummings, Kailey Grace Ashbrook, Alexandria Cummings, Anthony Cummings, Clinton Ashbrook, and Charlee Ashbrook and many loved and treasured nieces and nephews. Tim is also survived by his sister Sharon Myers and brothers Wayne Ashbrook and Danny Ashbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sandra Ashbrook Hildebrand, and four brothers, Leon Ashbrook, Harold Ray Ashbrook, Glendon Ashbrook, and Roger Ashbrook.

Tim graduated from Prescott High School, where he played football as the center for the Prescott Curley Wolves. He was part of the very first Prescott High School Football State Championship Team in 1973 and received All District and All Four States Area honors for his skills on the field. Tim managed Prescott Motor Company before opening Tim Ashbrook Auto Sales in Prescott.  Later in life Tim opened Twin City Gold & Siler Exchange in Texarkana, TX.  Tim loved spending time with his family, telling jokes, and enjoying life. He had a special talent for making people laugh and was known for his daily jokes on the local radio when he advertised cars.  Tim also enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends.

Tim was raised in the West Side Church of Christ in Prescott with a mother that loved God so very much.  He experienced a life changing calling from God in June of 1979 where he then was pastored by brother Tom Mitchel at Central Baptist Church in Prescott, Arkansas. Tim later joined First Baptist Church Texarkana under the leadership of Brother Jeff Shreve where he was fed and continued to learn and grow in his relationship with his Lord.

Visitation for Tim will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Central Baptist Church located at 615 East 2nd Street South Prescott, Arkansas. The funeral service will occur at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Central Baptist Church. Following the funeral service, Tim will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Prescott.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott, Arkansas.

Tim will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched, especially the Lollie Pop kids.  More than anything Tim would want those who do not know the Lord as their personal savior to know that only through Jesus we have the peace that passes all understanding.
