Two arrested on drug charges

HOPE – Two people were arrested Wednesday morning on drug charges. At about 8:45 am, Officers with the Hope Police Department, Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, and 8th North Task Force, executed a narcotic search warrant in the 700 block of East 3rd Street. During the execution of the search warrant, officers seized Crack Cocaine, Marijuana, and U.S. Currency.

Arrested were Dwuane Anderson, 47 of Hope, pictured on the bottom. Anderson was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver (Crack Cocaine), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Proximity to Certain Facilities. Also arrested was Shaneka Sasser, 36 of Hope. Ms. Sasser was charged with Maintaining a Drug Premises and Proximity to Certain Facilities.

Both subjects were transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where they were held until a first court appearance.
