Norma Jean Byassee Sullivan, 83, went to be with her Lord on January 26, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Jean was born on March 3, 1940 in Delight, AR to the late Harold and Beulah McLaughlin Byassee. She was married for 64 years to her beloved husband, Jim Sullivan of Hope, AR. She was a proud member of Unity Baptist Church of Hope. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry L Sullivan, her parents, 2 sisters and a brother.

Jean is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Sullivan of Hope, AR, her children Debbie Massey (Keith) of Hope, AR and Shane Sullivan of Angleton, Texas, a sister, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her best friend Judy Alexander (Gerald) of Hope, AR.

Jean graduated college with a degree in Accounting with a 4.0 average and loved puzzles, gardening, fishing, animals, traveling, reading, board games,  Bunco, shopping, Red Hats, church activities; especially Awanas and Youth group, joking and laughing and music of all types and often spoke of singing in the front row of  Jesus’ choir. She was also very artistic and could paint, draw, make crafts and sew.

Visitation will be at Unity Baptist Church at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30 with the service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Hope, AR. The service will be directed by Brother Jay Pollan.

The Sullivan family would like to thank friends and family for all of the prayers, visits, love and help during her years of illness. Thank you to Unity Baptist Church members and staff, as well as all of her many nurses, CNA’s, and staff.
