Alma Jean Massey Sullivan, age 78, passed away peacefully February 10, 2024. She was born July 20, 1945, in Los Angeles, CA. Her parents were Glen and Edna Bissell, who preceded her in death. She met and fell in love with Arden Massey when she was 20 years old.  After a two-week courtship, they were married on January 1, 1966, and were married almost 30 years at the time of his passing. She married her second husband, Glenn Sullivan, and they were married for almost 19 years at the time of his passing on January 1, 2024. She and Glenn had a love most of us could only wish for in a lifetime. She was also preceded in death by her sister Lucille “Lucy” Weatherford and her brother Don Bissell.

Alma loved to love on people. Once she knew you, she would tell you she loved you, and she meant it. She had a long list of people she made Christmas ornaments for every year up until this last Christmas. Alma was an old school cook who rarely used a recipe but could make a meal from whatever she found in the cabinet, and it would knock your socks off. She took a Wilton cake decorating course and made numerous birthday and wedding cakes for people for many years. Alma was a woman of many talents, the greatest of which was her ability to love deeply, and it showed in everything she did, especially being a mom and Nana. She loved being a Nana. Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she believed her greatest accomplishments.

Alma was a hard worker with a strong work ethic that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She worked at Klipsch for 23 years where she was able to use many of her talents. The job she was most proud of though was being a caregiver. She worked at Rainbow of Challenges for many years caring and loving for residents. Alma took care of a handicapped girl in her home for many years who she loved and cared for as her own child. Once again, her ability to love deeply was seen in her life’s work.

Alma was a Christian woman with a deep faith in the Lord. She was Church of Christ by denomination, but ultimately loved God and had no problem sharing her faith with others.

Alma is survived by her sister Laverne Bissell and sister Glenda Evans; son Duke Massey and girlfriend Briana Trevillion, daughter and husband Sunny and Brad Cotten, stepson and wife Matt and Cheyney Sullivan, and stepdaughter Devaney Sullivan; grandchildren Allie and Zach Romàn, Annika Wade, Cami Cotten, Jessalyn Cotten, Ty Trevillion, Randall Trevillion, Jake Sullivan, Isabelle Sullivan, and Elijah Sullivan; great grandchildren Kalia Sullivan, Lincoln Romàn due in May and another great grandchild due in October and many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
