John Cain Chapter Vice Regent, Brenda Barham and Bonnie Raff, PR and Media chair attended the 19th annual George Washington Birthday Observation February 22nd in Hop Springs. The speaker for the day was Sheila Beatty who talked about all the “firsts” that George and Martha had to decide as being the first president and wife in a new country with a new Constitution. Many of those ideas are still today. The event was sponsored by many colonial organizations. DAR was one such organization.
