The Hope Lions heard from Wendy Stotts of the Single Parent Scholarship Fund on Monday March 25th.  Stotts explained she works with single parents who are working towards a college degree or professional certificate.  The program provides a stipend for qualified students as they seek a Bachelor’s degree.  They also provide personal and professional workshops for these students as well as mentoring and coaching.

The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund was established 33 years ago and serves 67 counties in Arkansas.  They serve over 1,600 students every year.  The students that are pursuing 12 or more hours a semester can receive a stipend of $1,600 per semester.

Stotts was invited to speak by Lion Janet Choate who is pictured with her.  For information on the Single Parent Scholarship Fund visit aspsf.org or call Stotts at 870-277-0956.
