Priddy takes first in public speaking

HOT SPRINGS — Kiersten Priddy of the Spring Hill FFA chapter received first place honors in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking Leadership Development Event at the 97th Arkansas State FFA Convention, April 22-24.

Priddy will represent Arkansas at the National FFA Convention in October and compete against state winners from other associations.

The advisor of the Spring Hill FFA Chapter is Shane Plyler.

In the Extemporaneous Public Speaking competition, students prepare resources on 20 topics prior to the competition.  At the competition, students randomly select a topic and then write a four to six-minute speech, deliver it to a panel of judges, and answer questions about the topic.

The Extemporaneous Public Speaking Event is sponsored by Arkansas Farm Bureaus.
