Fairhills EHC hosts coffee

PRESCOTT – Thursday’s community coffee was hosted by the Fairhills Extension Homemaker Club.
The coffee was held at the Nevada County Library and sponsored by the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce.
The table was filled with treats made by the members to show some of the skills learned in EHC. May is Extension Homemakers month in Arkansas and recently Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver signed a proclamations declaring it in Prescott.
There used to be four EHC clubs in Nevada County, but now there’s only the one. The club is involved in education, and goes to the schools in the county to teach students different things, such as money management and cooking. It meets the third Thursday of each month at the Extension Office at 2 p.m. The club members have projects they work on and share during the meetings. Some of the crafts they make were on display at the coffee.
The EHC also manages the EHC building during the Nevada County Fair.
Anyone interested in joining can attend one of the club’s meetings. The EHC is a volunteer, non-profit organization.
