Joel accepted Christ when he was 6 years old, baptized by Mike Huckabee at Beech Street Baptist Church.

Joel was a son, brother, father, and friend. From an early age, Joel enjoyed reading, playing the piano, swimming, and watching movies like “American Tale” and “The Sword and the Stone”.

As a teenager, he loved snow skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, playing basketball, football, and all kinds of music. He was also very active in his church youth group.

As an adult, he continued his love for music, hiking, martial arts, working out, and studying the word of God.

Joel graduated from Mena High School in 2001. He furthered his education to receive a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from the University of Central Arkansas and continued to acquire a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A & M. Joel always had a very strong work ethic and was highly successful in his engineering career.
