Fair Hills VFD gets water donation
PRESCOTT – Firefighters battler more than fires during the summer – they also battle the heat, humidity and dehydration.
To help with the dehydration part, Anhauser Busch donated 98 cases of canned water to the Fair Hills Volunteer Fire Department Monday. The department applied for the water with a grant through the company in April 2024 and was recently notified it would be receiving the water. Assistant Fire Chief Joey Beavers said the National Volunteer Fire Council paired with Busch on the project and several departments were awarded water. Fair Hills is the only department in the county to get the water.
However, Fair Hills will be splitting the water with other departments in the county to help out as there’s been a lot of grass fires this year, and the dry part of the summer hasn’t arrived yet.
