John Richard “Ricky” Ragsdale, Jr.

John Richard “Ricky” Ragsdale, Jr., 59. of Adin, CA, formerly of Little Rock, AR passed on August 2, 2024. Born in Conway, AR on November 3, 1964, to John and Betty Ragsdale.

A graduate of Prescott High School, Ricky sold advertising for many years for a myriad of newspapers including the Nevada County Picayune, the Gurdon Times, and the Malvern Daily News as well as for several TV and radio stations in Hope, AR. Due to this, he was well known and. More impressively, well-loved throughout the respective communities.

Ricky was also a long-time preacher at many congregations around the state of Arkansas including in Hope, Malvern, Griffith Springs, Eureka Springs, Warren, and El Dorado. Ricky was a tissue donor and chose to donate what he could to those who had a need in hope of improving or saving as many lives as possible.

Ricky was a lover of books and of pocketknives and had a strong distaste for chaos. His last words to his wife Teresa were, “I love you, I love RC, I love everybody.”

Ricky was survived by his wife of almost 39 years Teresa Ragsdale now of Adin, CA, son RC Ragsdale of North Little Rock, AR, sister Lisa Ann Beebe and her spouse Tom Beebe of North Little Rock, AR, 2 uncles; Pete Ragsdale of DeWitt, AR and Don Gavin of Pansy, AR, 7 nieces, 5 nephews, and many cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Richard Ragsdale and Betty Jane Ragsdale, sister Phyllis Jane Jackson, 3 nephews, and his grandparents.

The memorial service is to be held at the Tanner Street church of Christ in Malvern, AR at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 8, 2024. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a medical research institute of the giver’s choice. Arrangements by Walton’s Funerals & Cremations.
