Kiwanis Pulled Pork Dinner Big Success at Watermelon Festival

The Hope Kiwanis Club has prepared a special meal on Thursdays at the Watermelon Festival for many years; however, this year the club tried something different and it appeared to be a big success.  The club served a pulled pork dinner at the Fair Park Community Center and the reports from those eating were popular.  Customers were waiting for the club to begin selling dinners when they opened at 4:30pm.  Dinners were served in the community center and “to go” orders were also available.  The club has been selling smoked pork butts around Thanksgiving for the past couple of years and they have become experts in preparing the delectable smoked meat.
