Big Boy 4014 to be in southwest Arkansas next week

Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014’s “Heartland of America Tour” will pass through southwest Arkansas next Monday, September 16th. This trip will be on UP’s former Cotton Belt main line via Pine Bluff and Texarkana. Previous visits brought the world’s largest operating steam locomotive through Hempstead and Nevada Counties, with the historic unit spending the night in Prescott. But a short drive south will get you trackside.

Big Boy No. 4014 will leave Kingsland at 12:15 pm September 16. At undetermined times through the rest of the afternoon, the train will pass through Camden, McNeil, Waldo, Stamps and Lewisville on its way for an evening stop in the rail yard in Texarkana.

The train is scheduled to leave Texarkana September 17 for Dallas at 9:00 am.
