Jake L. Glass

Jake L. Glass, 93 of Magnolia, Arkansas formerly of Prescott, Arkansas passed away Monday, September 9, 2024, at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.
Jake was born October 12, 1930, in Emmet, Arkansas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He began his service career on September 9, 1947, and retired as a Sergeant First Class on January 31, 1985. Jake worked as a maintenance mechanic for Albemarle and was a deacon and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Jake was a family man, was the best dad and papaw, and loved spending time with his family where they would go camping, fishing and hunting.
Jake is preceded in death by his parents, Warren Milton Glass and Carrie Lillie (Wicker) Glass; brothers, Joe, Junior, and J.W. Glass; sisters, Lucy Glass and Mary Fern Overton; and two granddaughters, Stephanie Williams and Carrie Pickett.
Jake is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Glass of Magnolia; his children, Donna Williams (Don) of Rosston, Sonja Collier (Derrel) of Taylor, Missy Crews (Tim) of Taylor, and Roger Glass (Carol) of Magnolia; grandsons, Michael Williams (Brooke), Philip C. Collier (Jamie), Eric Williams, David Williams, Stephen Collier (Amanda), Phillip Jackson Collier, Joshua Glass, Jacob Glass (Yanis), Justin Crews; granddaughters, Danielle Philyaw (Marshall), Tiffany McCready (Nick) and Crystal Brown (Phillip); 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation with the family will begin at 12:30 PM on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church Life Center with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM with Bro. Micah Carter and Bro. James Crane officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Burial to follow at Magnolia Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 929, Magnolia, Arkansas 71754.
Jake’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers and the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
